There are so many wonderful cats and dogs waiting for their forever homes; when you opt to adopt, you’re saving a life.
Our adoption fee includes: DHPP vaccination, microchip, and spay/neuter appointment.
In the event of an animal attack, please call 911. An Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to your location.
Services
Cat Adoption including spay/neuter: $55.00
Spay/neuter appointment assigned at time of adoption
Dog Adoption including spay/neuter: $75.00
Spay/neuter appointment assigned at time of adoption
Impound Fee (Per Day): $10.00
Impoundment Pickup Fee: $25.00
Delivery Fee: $40.00
Pet transportation to owner within County
Owner Surrender: $60.00
Owner surrendering the animal is required to bring all veterinary paperwork at the time of drop off
Owner Surrender/Euthanasia: $60.00 + euthanasia fee
In animal control care or custody, if an animal must be seen by our veterinarian all costs must be paid by the owner of the animal before it will be released back to them.
Violations
Effective September 1, 2024 the County Ordinance Fines will be changing. The fines will be a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $1,000 plus surcharges. Please see document listed below of our main fines and the applicable surcharges.
Livestock on Public Ways:
1st Offence: $100.00 + surcharges
2nd Offence: $200.00 + surcharges
3rd Offence: $300.00 + surcharges
Removal of Deal Animals: $250.00 + surcharges
Unsanitary Conditions: $250.00 + surcharges
Nuisance Barking:
1st Offence: $100.00 + surcharges
2nd Offence: $200.00 + surcharges
3rd Offence: $400.00 + surcharges
Tethering:
1st Offence: $100.00 + surcharges
2nd Offence: $200.00 + surcharges
3rd Offence: $400.00 + surcharges
Animals Running at Large:
1st Offence: $100.00 + surcharges
2nd Offence: $200.00 + surcharges
3rd Offence: $400.00 + surcharges
Impounding and other fees in connection with animal shelter:

Vaccination of animals (Rabies):
1st Offence: $100.00 + surcharges
2nd Offence: $200.00 + surcharges
3rd Offence: $400.00 + surcharges
Quarantine of animals:
Pick-up: $25.00

Person bitten by an animal: $500.00 + surcharges
Vicious Dogs: $400.00 + surcharges
Euthanasia:
Under 25lbs $60.00
25-50lbs $70.00
50-99lbs $75.00
Animal/Animal Attach: $250.00 + surcharge
Registration of Classified Dogs: $25.00
Failure to Wear/Obtain License or Rabies Tag: $30.00
Interference with Animal Control Officer: $60.00
Unauthorized Removal of Animal from LCAC: $100.00 + surcharge
Violations of Long County Ordinance: not to exceed $500.00 + surcharges
Criminal cases such as dog fighting and aggravated cruelty violates Title 16 of Georgia State Law and are felony offenses punishable with up to 5 years in jail and a $15,000.00 fine
Rewards
Crime Reporting Reward: $5,000.00
The Humane Society of the United States offers a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in dog fighting or cockfighting.
